Dialogfirst, Organizational Theory and Research
Traditional views of organizational effectiveness are being challenged by newer thinking which use relational models to understand how both individuals and organizations can deliver their peak performance.
Please download our brief paper by John Mortensen which describes how dialogfirst helps develop competence within a "communities of practice" model of organizational development.
Research has examined how "High Quality Connections" (HSQ) can be directly related to improvements in the effectiveness and commitment of individuals, their quality of life, and positive outcomes for the organization as a result. (See "Positive Organizational Scholarship, Foundations of a New Discipline - Cameron, Dutton and Quinn"
Dialogfirst is focused on developing and enhancing "High Quality Connections" which are defined in "Positive Organizational Scholarship" as increasing emotional carrying capacity, the ability of the connection to withstand strain, and the openness of the relationship to be generative and open to new ideas.
Whilst much has been written on organizational theory for effective organizations, including work on Emotional and Social Intelligence, there are few practical toolkits and trainings to put these ideas into practice. That is until Dialogfirst took the stage.
